Albert Yonathan Setyawan is presented at The Peninsula Hong Kong as part of 'Art in Resonance' 2026, in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), featuring a V&A-commissioned work curated by Dr. Louis Copplestone.
Titled Metamorphic Modulation, the installation unfolds within a purpose-built structure, surrounding viewers in a reflective, immersive environment. Comprising over 700 hand-modelled ceramic elements in red terracotta, the work develops through repetition and intricate pattern-making.
Centred on two ambiguous forms resembling a leaf and a flower, the installation explores perceptual uncertainty, where shadow and structure blur the boundary between object and space, continuously shifting with the viewer's movement.
